Yurin
Yurin creates upcycled accessories using sea ceramics and sea glass scraped by the power of the ocean waves. Kintsugi, one of the traditional Japanese techniques, has been changed to a modern style and incorporated into the accessories.
Sea ceramics and sea glass, which have been rubbed by waves and arrived at the beach over a long period of time, may be unnecessary or imperfect objects that would originally have been thrown away. I am attracted to kintsugi, a technique that can bring them back to life as valuable new accessories. The unique shapes and patterns of these one-of-a-kind accessories are one-of-a-kind and unique.
Please enjoy the beautiful forms created by nature. Yurin's work is created using a modern version of the simple gold-joint technique, which uses synthetic lacquer and brass powder to prevent rashes, and epoxy glue for adhesion. UV resin is also used for reinforcement, and some pieces are silver-jointed (using aluminum silver powder).
海の波の力で削られたシー陶器やシーグラスでアップサイクルなアクセサリーを制作しているYurinです。 日本伝統の技法の一つである金継ぎを現代風に変えてアクセサリーに取り入れました。 長い年月を掛けて波に揉まれて浜辺に辿り着いたシー陶器・シーグラスは、本来は捨てられてしまう単体では不要・不完全なモノかもしれません。 それらを価値のある新たなアクセサリーに生き返らすことが出来る金継ぎに魅力を感じ制作しています。 ユニークな形や柄が一つの個性で一つとして同じものがない唯一無二の一点ものアクセサリーです。 自然が作り出す美しい造形をお楽しみください。 Yurinの作品は現代版の簡易銀継ぎの技法を用いてますので、本漆とは異なりかぶれにくい合成うるしと真鍮粉を使用し、接着はエポキシ接着剤を使用しています。 補強の用途で合わせてUVレジンも使用し、作品によっては銀継ぎ(アルミ銀粉使用)を施してます。
