Nice to meet you. My name is Takuma Morota, and I am the owner of Kosui (鼓吹).
Kosui is a small leather brand where I personally handle everything from design, manufacturing, to sales.
I have always found deep joy in using a single item for a long time and cherishing it. Instead of being swayed by ready-made products or fleeting trends, I value creating my own space and possessions with a sense of uniqueness and comfort. Within this mindset, I have been self-taught in design and have been working closely with leather as a material. For me, leather products are not just tools. They are "spaces" that subtly enrich daily life. They change over time with the owner’s use, absorbing memories and emotions, and develop their own character. That is why I pour my thoughts into each piece and craft them with care. I use vegetable-tanned leather, a natural material. Leather that is tanned with plant-based agents gains more character and beauty as it ages, developing a unique expression for its owner. All products are handmade in small quantities, ensuring that each piece is one-of-a-kind and special to you. Beyond their visual appeal, practicality is also important—creating items that you want to use every day. My goal is to produce long-lasting items that can be loved for years to come, in forms that are durable and timeless. 鼓吹-kosui- は、デザインから製作、販売までをすべて私一人で行っている小さなレザーブランドです。
私は昔から、ひとつの物を長く大切に使うことに、深い喜びを感じてきました。 既製品や流行に流されるのではなく、自分だけの空間や持ち物にこだわりを持ち、そこに心地よさを見出す—。 そんな価値観の中で、自ら手を動かし、独学でデザインを学びながら、革という素材と向き合ってきました。 私にとって革製品は、ただの道具ではありません。 それは、日々の暮らしをほんの少し豊かにするための「余白」を与えてくれるツールです。 手にする人の時間とともに変化し、記憶や感情を染み込ませながら育っていくもの。 だからこそ、ひとつひとつに想いを込め、丁寧に仕立てています。 使用するのは、植物タンニンなめしの革。 自然由来の革は、使うほどに味わいが増し、持ち主だけの表情へと育っていきます。 すべて手作業での少量生産。周りと被らない、あなただけの特別な一点をお届けします。 見た目の美しさだけでなく、毎日使いたくなる実用性も大切に。 ながく愛せるものを、ながく使えるかたちで。 暮らしの中で静かに寄り添い、あなたの日常に彩りを添える、そんな革製品をお届けします。 鼓吹-kosui- 諸田 琢磨
